Why to be apprentice
Tattooing is an artistic skill that can help people feel better about their bodies and release your inner artistic passion. If you have drawing skills and a free spirit, tattoo artistry may be the perfect career for you. To become a tattoo artist, you will need to complete a tattoo apprenticeship. This is the fastest and secure way to get in the industry.
You need to know that as beautiful and amazing it looks from outside, as rough, hard and ugly can be inside this industry. That's why is verry important where you make your apprenticeships. As apprentice you will do a lot of hard jobs as cleaning, customer service, reception and be first help of artists, but you are not a slave of shops who needs you only for that, without any concern in your progress.

How to get an apprenticeship
No one likes being told that it can take years. But unfortunately, that’s the case with being a tattoo artist. It really isn’t something just anyone can do.
There’s a certain amount of raw talent and artistic flair involved. Either you are drawing, either you are using photoshop or digital tablets, your designs must sell.
Now, that doesn’t mean that just because you’re acing art class, you’re ready to start inking people. Tattooing skin with a needle is a completely different experience than painting a canvas or rubbing charcoal on sketch paper. You’ll need practice no matter how good your design skills are.
If you want to make it through your apprenticeship, taking care of your body (including adequate nutrition and sufficient sleep) is not optional. The first impression counts the most, so make sure you have a nice attitude and nice style.
If there are tattoo events in your area, attend them. If you’re getting tattooed, get to know your artist. It’ll be easier to get an apprenticeship if you’re already a familiar face. This is problably the most important aspect in finding a place to learn.
Do your reaserch about shops in your city, try to find a good professional clean one, and ask what you need.
Try to be ready to show fast a portofolio, think about your own body project, start designing tattoos for yourself, something that looks professional and good, something that you would like to get.
